How This Ant-Bait Framework Saved Our Shopify Store
here’s how we made Shopify work for us

We just got back from Europe and noticed ants in our home.
I immediately declared ant-hunting season and went on an hour-long killing spree.
My victory didn’t last long—by the next day, they were all back.
So, I ordered ant bait, set it up, and went on with my day.
Occasionally, I checked back. First, I saw one ant take the bait. Then five. Then ten—carrying it back to their colony.
Without me having to go on yet another killing spree.
What does this have to do with business?
When we first started selling online, we were so focused on chasing single sales that we spent all day working—yet made nowhere near enough to be profitable.
Until we put a system in place that did the selling for us… like ant bait.
At first, building that system felt like a distraction.
Instead of chasing a sale, I was spending time setting up email automations, retargeting campaigns, and everything we were manually doing before.
A day went by without a single sale.
Then one day, while my wife and I were walking after a frustrating day of no sales, we got three orders.
During our walk.
The next morning, we woke up to two more.
That’s when it hit us.
Just like ant bait, our system had started working for us.
Whenever someone visited our site, they were automatically retargeted, came back, placed orders, and were welcomed with an email automation.
After a while, we started requesting reviews in exchange for discounts. Our first reviews came in—leading to even more sales.
All fully automated.
All we had to do was fulfill orders and refresh our Shopify app.
I did get addicted to the feeling of new orders rolling in while doing the things I loved.
If you’re in that same frustrating spot—where you feel like you have to work so hard just to get a single sale…
Or maybe you haven’t even made a sale yet.
Focus on the system and trust the process.
The best part about Shopify? The hard work only needs to be done once.
With a well-built system, you won’t feel the difference between 1 order a day and 1,000.
Crazy, I know.
To be 100% honest, you will feel the difference in fulfillment.
We had to hire three people just to keep up—before switching to 3PLs.
Which, of course, is yet another system.
If you’ve made less than 100 sales, this is for you.
Happy selling,
Flo
